Les personnes en fin de vie sont souvent considérées comme recevant un maximum de soins durant cette période terminale. A partir d'une enquête réalisée sur des patients hospitalisés en fin de vie, cette étude reprend différents paramètres pour infirmer ou confirmer cette croyance. Elle décrit les causes de survenue en milieu hospitalier et le suivi de ces patients sur cinq ans jusqu'à leur décès. Les résultats statistiques effectués donnent des renseignements sur les patients, leurs causes et conditions d'hospitalisation, le type de soins reçus et une évaluation du coût hospitalier.
