Cette étude montre qu'il n'existe pas de trajectoire du mourir typique pour les patients ayant une insuffisance cardiaque. Néanmoins, elle montre qu'il est attaché plus d'importance au déclin physique du patient qu'à la mort. Cette étude encourage alors à développer la notion de soins palliatifs dans de tels services.
