Communication and choice in dying from heart disease = Information et choix des mourants liés aux pathologies cardiovasculaires

Les pathologies cardiaques ont reçu moins d'attention que le cancer dans les soins palliatifs. Une enquête a été menée auprès d'aidants naturels, 10 mois après le décès du patient : sur 675 réponses, 600 indiquent des morts non soudaines. Un quart des mourants voulait hâter la mort à cause de l'âge avancé et de la gravité des symptômes. Cette étude montre le besoin pour les services de santé de donner plus d'attention aux patients mourants avec une pathologie cardiaque.
