Cet article passe en revue les rites funéraires et la façon dont la mort est perçue (voyage vers un autre monde, grand sommeil...) en Grèce dans la mythologie antique et à travers les époques (Grèce antique 700 av. J.C, du temps de Socrate et des Stoïciens, sous l'empire romain, le joug ottoman et Grèce contemporaine). Aujourd'hui coexistent les rituels chrétiens orthodoxes datant de 6 siècles ap. J.C. et ceux de la Grèce antique (surtout à travers la poésie).
