Biologic Agents for the Treatment of Anaphylaxis

International audience. Several biologic therapies and new devices are emerging as potential preventive treatment of anaphylaxis. However, adrenaline (epinephrine) is still the first-line treatment of any type of anaphylaxis. Biologic drugs, such as omalizumab, although not US Food and Drug Administration approved for anaphylaxis, have been used as therapeutic adjuvants in the preventive treatment of anaphylaxis, but cost-effectiveness should be considered individually.
