International audience. The management of diabetic adolescents is a situation to which the practitioner will be more and more confronted. Epidemiological data indicate an increase in the number of children and adolescents with diabetes, with a shift in the age of onset of diabetes to children under 10 years of age. Despite the development of new technologies and therapeutic education, the period of adolescence is still a period of glycemic imbalance that has deteriorated in recent years affecting a larger number of adolescents with diabetes. The management of adolescents with diabetes is a particularly difficult metabolic, psychological, societal, and institutional situation. There is currently no structure dedicated to the care of the adolescent with diabetes. In this context, the recommendations advocate the establishment of transition periods allowing the teams of pediatric and adult diabetology to walk the patient to adulthood accompanied by the best to avoid breaks in care. The Teen Homes also represent support that can be provided to the care of the young adolescent with diabetes during this particularly difficult period.
