To prepare the fourth generation of seed orchards, a major genitor evaluation programme has been undertaken, characterised by the size and quality of the test network: 120 hectares of progeny trials installed in 8 successive sets to evaluate 1300 genitors. The selection of these genotors between 2005 and 2010 will allow the development of new orchards which will become productive in about 2020
