Cette étude croisée a été réalisée sur l'ensemble des services d'un groupe hospitalier français auprès de tous les patients entrés pour une hospitalisation d'une durée égale ou supérieure à 24 heures. Elle a trois objectifs : mesurer la prévalence et l'intensité de la douleur dans l'ensemble d'une population hospitalisée, améliorer la prise en charge par les soignants par l'utilisation d'outils d'évaluation, explorer les raisons des hésitations des patients à demander un traitement antalgique. Il a été effectué une auto-évaluation sous forme de questionnaire relis à 1475 patients. Les rsultats sont illustrés par des tableaux et des schémas statistiques. Il a été montré notamment un contraste entre des indices concerant l'intensité de la douleur et la satisfaction de la prise en charge.
