En Inde, les médecins ne sont pas formés aux soins palliatifs pédiatriques, mais il suffirait de mettre en place une formation adaptée pendant le stage d'internat ou sous forme de formation continue. Un programme de formation aux soins palliatifs a été mis en place à Mumbai (Bombay) en 2012 à l'attention des médecins diplômés. Un projet de mise en place de soins palliatifs pédiatriques a également vu le jour dans l'Etat du Maharashtra.
