National audience. Various fossils such as plants, bivalves and ammonoids occur from the Upper Triassic deposits distributed in the western part of Yamaguchi, western Japan. Here, we report additional fossils including eight ammonoids, one bivalve and one plant from the Upper Triassic Nakatsuka Formation in Kanagasako area, Sanyo-onoda district. The ammonoids consist of Trachyceratidae gen. et sp. indet., Paratrachyceras sp., Ussuri tidae gen. et sp. indet. and Nojsvarites? sp. In particular, Paratrachyceras sp. is first reported from the Nakatsuka Formation. Although these are all poorly preserved fragmentary specimens, the present report provides the age constraint to the Nakatsuka Formation as well as new data on paleobiogeography of the Upper Triassic ammonoids in East Asia.
