International audience. Between 1999 and 2016, preventive archaeological excavations before the construction of lines 1 and 6 of the Naples metro in Piazza Municipio provided new evidence about the coastal landscape by the ancient harbour basin. These investigations led to the discovery of the remains of seven wrecks (Napoli A-C, and E-H) dating to the Hellenistic era and the Roman Empire. This paper presents the study of the architectural characteristics of four wrecks uncovered in 2013-2015 in the passageway connecting the metro stations to the modern tourist harbour (Stazione Marittima) and will suggest hypotheses concerning the function of the vessels.
