International audience. Introduction:Tibola is a rare and emerging bacterial infection, with ticks of the Dermacentor genus acting as its vectors. In 2021, clinicians at referral centres reported an increase in the number of cases.Main Objective:To describe the trend in the number of Tibola cases between 2016 and 2021and the evolution of the Dermacentor tick population in a part of norteastern FranceMethod:This was a multicentre, observational, and descriptive retrospective study conducted across 11 hospitals in Eastern France. Both possible (clinically confirmed by microbiology) and probable (clinically compatible without microbiological confirmation) cases were included. Tick collection in 4 sites in Alsace region between 2014 and 2023Results:A total of 35 cases were included. The clinical presentation was typical. Most cases could not be confirmed microbiologically. Initial antibiotic therapy was often inappropriate. On the four sites where tick collection was conducted, one of them showed a peak in the density of Dermacentor vectors.Discussion:A clear increase in the number of cases was observed in 2021, following a typical seasonal pattern. This trend coincided with a rise in the Dermacentor tick population in certain biotopes.
