International audience. In this issue, Panas et al. (2019. J. Cell Biol. https://doi.org/10.1083/jcb.201801214) challenge the data published in the Tourrière et al. (2003. J. Cell Biol. https://doi.org/10.1083/jcb.200212128) paper on the role of G3BP phosphorylation in stress granule (SG) assembly. This reply addresses that letter and suggests that more work is needed to understand the role of this modification in SG formation.

The RasGAP-associated endoribonuclease G3BP mediates stress granule assembly

Archive ouverte | Tourrière, Hélène | CCSD

International audience. Stress granules (SGs) are formed in the cytoplasm in response to various toxic agents and are believed to play a critical role in the regulation of mRNA metabolism during stress. In SGs, mRNA...

Topoisomerase 1 suppresses replication stress and genomic instability by preventing interference between replication and transcription.

International audience. Topoisomerase I (Top1) is a key enzyme acting at the interface between DNA replication, transcription and mRNA maturation. Here, we show that Top1 suppresses genomic instability in mammalian ...

Overexpression of Claspin and Timeless protects cancer cells from replication stress in a checkpoint-independent manner

International audience. Oncogene-induced replication stress (RS) promotes cancer development but also impedes tumor growth by activating anti-cancer barriers. To determine how cancer cells adapt to RS, we have monit...
