National audience. After recent outbreaks of human listeriosis, a large number of media and techniques have been developed to detect the presence of Listeria in foods. Today the routine detection of the pathogenic Listeria monocytogenes is not possible directly on plating media. The discrimination between L. monocytogenes and other Listeria species is difficult at this stage. The purpose of the present work is to evaluate EHA medium (enhanced haemolysis agar). This selective agar medium which enhances haemolysis allow rapid identification of pathogenic Listeria.
