International audience. Azobenzene is the most extensively used class of chromophore in a large variety of applications. Recently, the use of azobenzene derivatives was developed in catalysis especially as a promoter. This paper aims to provide a global overview of the main access to the diazo compounds from 2010 as well as their use as a reactant or a promoter in organometallic catalysis.
