International audience. Alto is a Dephy Expé* research project, part of the French Ecophyto II plan, for which the CTIFL centre of Balandran is a testing site. The aim is to design agro-ecological orchards, with very low phytosanitary inputs or even without pesticides, based on crop diversification (different species and varieties)and to create areas dedicated to biodiversity within and around the plots. Their design and management are optimized for pest regulation, which is the project’s main lever and subject of study. *Demonstration/experimental farm network . Alto est un projet de recherche Dephy Expé du plan Ecophyto II dont le centre CTIFL de Balandran est un des trois lieux de l’expérimentation. Il s’agit de concevoir des vergers agroécologiques, très bas intrants phytosanitaire voire sans pesticide, s’appuyant sur une diversification culturale (différentes espèces et variétés) et un aménagement parcellaire et extraparcellaire d’espaces dédiés à la biodiversité. Leur « design » et leur conduite sont optimisés pour la régulation des ravageurs, principal levier et objet d’étude du projet.
