Geographical distribution of Venturia inaequalis strains virulent to the Vf gene in Europe

International audience. The results obtained in the frame of the DARE project, added to the previous published data, allow the distribution of the V. inaequalis strains virulent to the Vf gene to be mapped in Europe. Nine years after the first report of the presence of race 6 in Germany, and 8 years after the firts report of the presence of race 7 in England, the results showed that races 6 and 7 were present 7 European countries, situated mainly in the Northern part of Europe.
