International audience. The objective of this study was to assess the variation of the red to far-red ratio due to the scattering of light by two plant species pea and wheat. Virtual sensors were used in different direction to estimate filtered and reflected light within the canopy. Our results showed that in most crop arrangement the difference of structure between the two species provides different values of red to far-red ratio. In the south direction, there is no effect of the structure on the red to far-red ratio.
