Une enquête a été menée au près de 135 professionnels de santé afin de connaître dans quelle mesure leurs attitudes et leurs expériences personnelles influencent leur pratique et leur manière de communiquer sur les directives anticipées. L'hypothèse étant que par un processus inconscient, les soignants projettent leurs propres expériences de la maladie terminale et de la mort sur les patients et de ce fait sont moins objectifs lorsqu'il s'agit de communiquer sur les directives anticipées.
